Plans & Pricing

The website builder comes with a range of pricing plans which are separated based on features and the number of websites you can use the software for. There is a limited free plan and the other plans are paid yearly.

The first plan costs $49/year and has almost all the premium features. These include dozens of widgets, hundreds of templates, the theme builder, form builder, and more. You can only use it on one website and have access to regular updates.

The second plan, Advanced, costs $99/year and has the same features as Essential like the Woocommerce store builder, website template kits, marketing integrations, etc. The difference is the number of websites it can be used for. This plan supports three sites.

On the expert plan, the features are the same as the previous ones but you can use them on up to 25 websites and you can create an Expert Network profile. It costs $199/year.

The Studio plan is $499/year and can be used on up to 100 websites. This is the first plan where VIP 24/7 live chat support is available. It’s a good option if you’re an agency and the listing in the Expert Network will help you get more clients.

The final plan costs $999/year and allows you to install the website builder on up to 1,000 websites. It also expands the number of people who can use VIP live support to ten members. Compared to many website builders, Elementor is inexpensive. That’s partly due to the need to purchase your own site hosting and then install WordPress –it doesn’t come bundled together.

Founded in 2016 by three entrepreneurs, Elementor is one of the most prolific site builders designed exclusively for WordPress. It’s clear that it was made with non-technical users in mind because the interface is easy to learn and doesn’t require any coding work. It comes out of the box with a visual drag-and-drop builder, a large collection of elements, and multiple design options. If you’re a solo, small, or medium business then Elementor is a great choice.

Features & Functionality

The Elementor feature set has a breadth and it’s currently achieving depth. It comes standard with a drag-and-drop builder, dozens of widgets, a popup builder for enhanced lead generation, video and audio support, and much more.

Theme Builder

Even though it comes with many templates, you may not find what you’re looking for. If you’re building something custom then one of the most difficult things is making sure the design of each page is consistent. Elementor allows you to customize global settings such as menus, colors, sidebars, etc. and it’ll reflect across the website. You can also design types of pages like articles, portfolios, and search results pages to keep your branding consistent.

Woocommerce store builder

Woocommerce is the leader when it comes to eCommerce tools on WordPress. Elementor integrates seamlessly with it and gives you more design flexibility. You’re able to create global settings such as pricing displays, ratings, and the checkout experience. You can also use advanced tools like upselling to maximize the value of every customer.

Integration ecosystem

No tool can do it all so it needs integrations to pick up the slack where it falls short. Elementor seems to understand this and has invested time and energy into creating a large integration ecosystem to extend its functionality. A few notable integrations include Zapier, Mailchimp, and Facebook.

Expert marketplace

Elementor has vetted countless vendors and created a marketplace that shows only the best. It includes three categories namely design, development, and marketing. When you’re on a high enough Elementor plan, you’re able to fast-track inclusion into the expert marketplace.

Design & Templates

There are well over 200 templates and many categories are represented such as consulting, portfolios, online courses, restaurants, etc. There are free and paid options but almost all the designs are modern and professional-looking. Each template still gives you the same level of control over the elements that’ll make your site unique like colors and typography. Keep in mind that the default drag-and-drop editor uses a section block system which makes it easier to get the proper alignment between individual elements but it can also limit design flexibility. With Elementor, you’re able to turn this off and place widgets exactly where you want them on the page.

Customer Support

Elementor provides many support channels with the knowledgebase being the one it recommends the most. If the help articles aren’t enough then you can reach out to the support reps. You can either use live chat or email support but it depends on your subscription plan. No matter the channel, the reps are knowledgeable and can solve most problems but won’t go above and beyond to assist you.

Ease of Use

No website builder has zero learning curve but if you’ve used one in the past then Elementor should be familiar to you. It has a straightforward interface and the major functions can be learned in under an hour. Any widget on the left of the page can be dragged into the page and further customized. It’s important to note that Elementor has many features which can prove daunting to some users –especially the inexperienced ones. All things considered, it’s easier to use and faster than most site builders.

  • 24/7 Help & Support
Round-the-clock support is available for customers.
  • Live Online Chat
Depending on your subscription plan, you can access live chat 24/7.
  • Email
All customers have access to email support.
  • Video Tutorials
It provides many video tutorials on the website and YouTube.
  • FAQ
It has a detailed knowledgebase and many FAQs to answer common questions.
  • Community Forum
It doesn’t have a traditional forum but there is a large Facebook community.
  • Blog
The Elementor blog shares company news, business tips, and web design strategies.

Final Word

It hasn’t taken Elementor long to become one of the most popular website builders for WordPress. It’s made for small and medium businesses that may not have much technical staff or that want to allow anyone on the team to make changes to the website. The interface is easy to learn, it has hundreds of templates designed by professionals, provides many marketing tools like the popup maker, and comes with a theme builder. It stands out even more because it has an expert marketplace that can be used to enhance your design or marketing efforts. One thing to keep in mind is that Elementor is designed to be used with WordPress. That means you’ll need your own hosting and install WordPress before you can take advantage of it. If this isn’t a deal-breaker then its easy interface, relatively cheap pricing, and a large number of integrations make it a solid option for WordPress users.
